Speaking of garters, I will probably need a pair for my socks. Has anyone made an effective pair? I'm sure it would entail elastic and lace, but beyond that I'm not too sure how they work.

I have no idea how to go about the garter-making project, but racehorse87, you might want to try swapping out the red satin ribbon in yours for some thin corded elastic. if you got one of the colorful ones (red metallic anyone?) I think it would be a very similar effect, but should help them stay up much better! Something cheap to try, anyway.

Amerigirl05, thanks for posting the pictures. I wasn't worried about the pix, because you sent me such a nice note immediately after you got them, so I knew they got to you okay, and that you were happy with them. The pic of the blue flower and opalite chip pendant came out really nice!

I have a camera now--got my birthday present early because hubby knew how much I wanted one, so now I will be able to take photos of what I send and recieve in the swaps.

I'm glad that you like them! I love to make jewelry, and pendant-making is my bestest favoritest jewelry-making project of all.

Thanks! I found it on some free avatar site, when I was looking for a kitty avatar.   I have an orange boy named Seymour, who really thinks he is a lion. He likes to sneak up on me, pounce, and nip me gently in the back of the legs from time to time, when I least expect it. He is our fuzzy land-shark! I lost a great deal of wieght  right before I got pregnant, and he used to "pants" me by sneaking up and getting his claws hooked into the back pockets of my baggy jeans.  (Whenever Seymour could pull my pants to my ankles, I knew it was time to head over to the thrift shop and look for clothes in the next size down.) When I saw this avatar, I thought of him.
