I really like this as well, and its inspired me to make collage necklaces now...I don't think I'll do gems right now, until I have some cut outs of gems, but I have tons of small bits of paper laying around waiting to be made into something fabulous!

Awww... I wish I had seen this earlier! My mom and dad would really appreciate your "jewelry." I used to cut out the pictures just like you did but just tape them onto my ears, neck, fingers, etc. when I was 4. My parents trained me well I guess...

Anywho, you did a much better job than I did. I love it!

OMG...I freaking love this! I am totally making one! My only question is if the 'gems' are so light that they get twisted when you wear it. But either way, I am so doing this...love it!

Wowza this is so freakin' cool I can't believe it!  What a great idea!  Not sure if you sealed it with anything - I think if I made one (and for the other peeps that were thinking of it) I might use that sticky paper-protector stuff or even clear packing tape overtop like a bit of lamination.  I sweat like a beast and so I think, for me, it would be veeery wise to protect the paper from my moisture.

Can't wait to go through my magazines (I knew it was right to keep keeping them!) and find some jems (pun intended!)

Awesome job.  This idea rocks my boathouse.

...Oh, she's a crafty one, she is...

That is amazing! And if anyone asks you can say it is commenting on the shallow and insubstantial nature of wealth, the false-ness of social status and the transitory nature of material posessions  Grin
