Do you all think it would look funny if I were to print up some pics of gemstones on the computer and then laminate them?  Would being shiny look funny?

I hope you dont mind but i did one! But instead of cardboard its plastic gems, my cutouts looked really bad.

OMG!!  I just love your necklace!  That is too funny though!  I used to cut out 'fancy' jewelry pics from department store and Avon catalogs.  I would staple the bracelets together, and poke a hole in the earrings with my real earrings and wear them!  I never thought to do that now!  I'm so going to do this for my niece as part of her birthday present!  Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Thank you, lisatrix. for this great idea!  I'm making necklaces for guests at an Oscar-themed party.  Everyone will be slathered in jewels!  The party is being hosted by teachers at my school for their aides.  We're serving foods with names like "Meat Me in St. Louis," "Lawrence of Arugula," "Drugstore Cow," "Dial M for Mutton."  Butter will be labeled "Lard of the Rings."
