I decorated my fish Cinnamon's tank and food in an attempt to make him happier. hehe

http://www.applepics.com/1/userfiles/igot2b4him247_51.gif

Here's what all I did:

* glow in the dark stars on the outside of his tank
* his food in a glass jar
    * top decorated with sequins
    * sign attached w/ mini clothespins
    * seashell inside
    * decorated plastic spoon
* he is red w/green specks, so everything is red & green, a kind of Christmas theme!

 Cheesy this is so cute! i recently 'spiced up' my fishtank.. i bought some of that stainglass paint (it is the peelable kind) i made designs on my mirror, then waited till the next day to peel them off and put onto the back of my fishtank! you could choose colours, but i used glow-in-the-dark! i love it! i made it look like coral and stuff so it looks great at night... also the stainglass paint was from the dollarstore (very cheap so its extra great), it said to use 'leading' but i didnt like the look for my fishtank, i wasnt sure if it would work but it did!

Haha!  That makes me laugh.  Well, maybe if you and my fish went to a Chinese restaurant together and got fortune cookies like in Freaky Friday... just kidding. Wink  The tank's been this way for awhile so I'm thinking of redoing it...

Does anyone have any ideas?  I want to put something unusual at the bottom of the tank, some kind of figurine you wouldn't expect in a fish tank...I just can't think of anything.   Roll Eyes

Do you guys remember those clingy plastic backgrounds for fish tanks that at one time adorned every fish tank?  Well I was at Kmart recently and they had their tacky summertime placemats on sale for 10 cents a piece, so I bought a bunch to tape to the back of my fishtank.

As we speak, my fish is hanging out with a monkey in a lounge chair.  And when he kicks the monkey to the curb, I have a sesame street placemat that is a picture of the neighborhood with Big Bird and Oscar to use.

Just an idea for you guys.

I would go to the toy store and see what kinds of plastic action figures they have.

I got this idea from a Christmas edition of Martha Stewert's kid magazine, but they had a fish tank that had a little decorated Xmas tree in it.  You could use any model sized tree and decorate it with plastic doodads and voila, your fish have Christmas spirit.

The fish in the pciture was just kind of staring at it, which I do believe is the official sign that a fish is happy.  Or annoyance.  Or contentment.  Or anger.  Well, since they only retain info for about 30 seconds, who cares.  Fish have two settings, hungry and buy a new fish, this one's swimming upside down.
