I love Shel Silverstein. I remember being in the first grade and crying when I read the Giving Tree. I love his poetry too. I remember having to memorize his poems in the 4th grade. I still remember the one about the Homework Machine.  Grin

april would work for me. this would be my first swap and I too need some info on how to do it. although I never cried at the Giving Tree, I did feel bad for the tree for getting the short end of the emotional stick...get it? stick? stick! he was a tree full of sticks and i said short end of the ....blink blink...yeah ...april's good for me.

one question: why is your mom's placenta under a tree?!!!! am i reading this right? Huh
note* was thinking......and now i understand my question.....i was picturing a placenta just sitting under a tree....but to answer my own question....its probably buried....ok good Tongue

shel silverstein is amazing.

and ive heard of the burying the placenta tradition- the one i heard about was from mexico i think. my family saved my umbilical cord til my OCD aunt cleaned one year, thought it was just tissue paper and threw it away haha

I have adored Shel Silverstein ever since I first heard him in the 3rd grade.  Now my son is in 3rd grade and he's begun reading him Shel's poems on his own after hearing me read them to him for so many years.  I would absolutely be up for this swap in April.
