I really like your use of color. What did you do it in? Is it encaustic? It looks like there are words in the solid colors, like scratched in....If so, I don't think you need them. The composition stands strong on its own. Especially with the bold color. I think the same about the newer one, you also posted. I think it would just as good if you edited out some of the text, except for maybe the names on the girlz. There's my "Art School Critique" for ya!

Beautiful work, gonna check out some of your linkz.....

i really love the way you used old photographs for book. and as said, your colors are amazing, with the cloudish shapes it almost reminds me of the old beatles movie, yellow submarine.

THis is really well done!  the more I looked at it, the more and more I liked it.  Love the use of colour, I especially love her hair.  She looks like Madonna a little.  Well done Grin sell it!

I love the scratched words. I am a big fan of using words carefully in art. It adds a shadowy kind of storybook feeling when it is done well. Sometimes it can be overkill, but I think it matches the feel of this painting very well. Not to mention that it adds a texture that gives the whole thing an look that is more Van Gogh than modern and blocky. I love it.

From the book Godless:

Just Al: I know that God is real. I feel his presence in my heart
Me: What does it feel like?
Just Al: It's hard to describe Jason. It feels good.
Me: Oh. I thought maybe it was like heartburn or something.

That's an incredible piece...I love the way it captures "a moment" but still feels like it's in motion (hope that makes sense the way I put it). The use of color and imagery is really unique and I want to keep looking at it!
