Ah ha!  I was looking at the most recent replies, avatars, etc.  I was totally stumped as to what she was talking about.

Thank you SO much! Cheesy

There was a really cute dress on the Clothing Reconstructed page. It was all ties and it was adorable.

I found these ideas:

Scarf:

Wallet: for which I cannot find the link but it was awesome.

I'll post pictures of mine when I get around to taking pictures of them.

My next project is a large craft bag out of a scatter rug.  I plan to use old ties for the handles - long enough to go over the shoulder, and cute, too!

My best friend's dad recently died and she inherited all of his old ties. She is planning on making a quilt out of them. I am so jealous! I can't wait for her to get started so I can see it.

I have a long torso, so when I a shirt I like that's too short, I sew a tie around the bottom of the shirt.  It gives me the extra length I want, and looks quite cool.

I'm new to Craftster - just started today but thrilled to see this post.  I have a whole bunch of vintage ties that I've had for a year, didn't know what to do with but couldn't bring myself to throw away.  After reading all these postings I've got a ton of ideas now and can't wait to get home and try some.

Thanks!

A friend just sent me a ton of ties. A good way to find them is to post a notice at your church or at the Senior Center in town asking for them.  So far I've been making the wine bottle holders, and now I'm going to start on a purse for the same friend. Trying to match the ties together can make me crazy! I had them laid out all over the living room floor last night trying to find the ones that will work best together, I could only look at them for so long before my eyes crossed! I keep thinking I need more!!!  Shocked

That's a very cute skirt, and I think we all ought to make and wear things that inspire us to be fairies and fly around the house and jump on couches!   Grin Before I saw your comment my immediate thought was, "Peter Pan skirt!"

I'm living/working in Yosemite Nat'l Park til further notice! Blogging about it here. No swapping for me, and minimal crafting time, for the coming months. Almost done with library school! That sums things up for now.
