So I hadn't seen this topic before, but I just finished crocheting a dozen roses:

The roses (more like rosebuds now that I think about it) themselves used the pattern here, and the rest was improvised. The leaves were pretty simple (ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 3 sc in next ch, (up the other side of the chain) 2 tr, 2 dc, 2 sc), the stems are just sc rectangles wrapped around coat hanger wire, and the ribbon's just a long sc rectangle.

Now the trick is shipping all of that from Missouri to Massachusetts. ^_^
