so i had these grey cords from the gap for a while, but they've gotten a little bit tight. so instead of giving them away or trying to squeeze into them, i added some stretchy fabric and voila!

i just cut the pants in a sort of "u" shape in the front down below the fly. then in the back i just cut right above the pockets. i used an old tank top for the stretchy material.

they fit really nicely, but i'm kind of afraid that they might fall down... we'll see! my finance says they look like maternity pants (in a good way! haha), but considering that i'm jealous of pregnant women who get to wear cute maternity pants, i didn't mind too much! just as long as no one mistakes me for a pregnant woman! so let me know what you think! and any ideas that i could use for holding the pants up would be greatly appreciated!

wow, thats kewl! i'll have to try that. i can't wear jeans much cause they always cut into my paunch. i like comfy strechy waistbands. i know what you mean about being jealous of pregnant ladies. maybe i need to shop in maternity stores.
umm guess you could try using a smaller tanktop next time to make it more snug? or attach a sash type dealie that ties on the side or something.

thanks! i'm really jealous of maternity pants because i love decorative waistbands. plus pregnant women are so cute! i'm going to experiment a bit more with the band and see what works...

to hold them up, perhaps create a coresety lacing in the front/back toe sides. It'll make it less maternity and add some cool detail!
