Sounds kind of like sushi.

Ok, I know this is a sewing project, but I made it for my knitting needles.  I think next time I will knit a roll.

Ok, this is a picture of the inside, where my needles will go.

This is picture of the outside of the needle roll.

This is an action shot, needles in their little cubbyholes.

And of course, the needle roll actually rolled up.  I still need to make a tie.

The brocade I worked with is from Joann's and let me tell you, it's slippery.  From the start I had trouble -- it didn't cut evenly and it sheds like crazy.  But I got it all together and made sure any raw edges were double turned and topstitched so it shouldn't shed any more.

It weighs about five pounds.  The brocade is heavy!

The colors are more rose and beige with rose and pear.  The light isn't so great in my craft room.

Now I need to make a knitting bag to hold my yarn and my needle roll.

I am so delighted with this little project!  Now my needles will stay in one place and I won't have to go hunting for them!

Thanks for looking,

p.s.  I do believe this is my 200th post.  Woot!

Thank you!

I wanted to post a better picture so I just took another one.  This is more true to the color.

I love pictures!

It's beautiful! Everytime I see one of these, I want to make one even more. It's too bad I can't sew. I can't even figure out how to use my sewing machine.

I'm crystalnickel on Ravelry!

Visit my blog at http://cnp71203.blogspot.com/. It has a little of everything... well, most things!

Are you near a Joann's?  They have sewing classes -- bring in your machine, and for $35 or something like that, you get to take a class.  It's so valuable.

Better than that (and free), hook up with a friend who sews and have a craft day.  Make sure you have your machine's instruction book, though, so you can figure out how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin.

Most sewing is just straight lines.  This project is all straight lines.  Sew easy.  (I hope those knitting people don't sue me for using that phrase) (snark)

Deirdre, that needle roll is absolutely beautiful! I love the fabric you used!

I want your promo stickers...your fave local band, your etsy shop, your zine, a sticker you picked off a bar wall, or even bumper stickers! I'm covering a table & need stickers! PM me!

Free gift with every purchase!

What wonderful fabric, I really need to make myself one. Right now my needles are scattered eveywhere.

My life is like unto a bargain store
And I may have just what you're lookin' for
If you don't mind the fact that all the merchandise is used
