I made barettes out of conversations hearts last year so its crazy that someone else did that too. I coated them with glue to make them shiny which kind of melted the words. That was fine with me those as I wrote other (dirty) messages on them.

I wish I knew where my barrettes were...I so wanna wear them! I was wearing one that said, "Call me" and some guy was like, "Uh...you're wearing a Blondie song in your hair!" And of course, the song was stuck in my head (LOL...literally AND figuratively! all night after that!

i sealed them with krylon crystal clear. it didn't make the words smear or disappear or anything, and they are pretty sturdy, i pushed on into my wall to see how they would stand up, but they are mostly for office mates and our cubes at work, so i don't think that much pressure will be applied to them (we won't be hammering them or anything)

i also sealed some life savers too, i'm going to make some magnets out of them this week.

i was thinking of making earrings out of the hearts next time around!

no such thing as a dumb question Smiley
hot glue would work temporarily but id stick with E-6000 personally as it has held like a charm.  i got a whole slue of glow in the dark stars and adhered pushpins stuck them in the ceiling and not one fell yet Smiley

Thanks for the tip.  I always get so lost in the glue isle...what is what, what will glue what, etc.
