When I moved into this apartment, I had this huge disconnected wall that I didn't know how I was going to cover.  I really love postcards and random paper that I find around town and I love collages, but because this was my first "grown up" apartment, I didn't want to just go to town with push pins on the walls with random crap as I have done in the past.  I came across one of those fluffy photo ribbon thingys in a store and thought...hey! I should do that to my wall!   I just did a little math and marked off the squares then used the black ribbon as a base grid and added colored ribbon to create kind of a plaid look. I used push pins that coordinate at the cross of the black ribbons only.  The colored ribbons are only secured at the top and bottom with matching push pins and weaved in and out of the black to give the intersections some tension. The only draw back is that depending on the type of ribbon, I have some "druppage" during hot or humid days, but that doesn't bother me too much. I stick all sorts of things that matter to me at the time (ticket stubs, cards, photographs) in the ribbon crosses.  It's great because I can change it all the time -- My wall never has to look the same.  Hope you like! (sorry about image quality)

Splendid!  I like how it's sophisticated, not haphazard.

what a great idea!  i love that you are always able to change the items displayed.  the large scale of the project and displaying area is very appealing too!

Yeah, this is "unique". But have you tied them permanently? or you can change it as priority wise?
