The fabric's a-flyin'! Here's the gallery for posting the awesome fabric-y goodness everyone got.

Original thread here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=76519.0

I'll get this party started w/ my photos:

From aeronberry, I got some beautiful cotton fabric...one yard of the background and 1/2 yd of the purple. I think I am going to immediately make these into a purse! Thank you! They're lovely!

And from raindrops, I got this wonderful chiffon-y, rayon-y, drape-y piece of fabric that caused me to run through the house, floating it behind me singing, "I feel pretty! Oh so pretty!" Now I have to *make* it into something. She sent 2 yds (wow!) So perhaps a skirt!

She also sent me a bonus piece... will wonders never cease? This looks like a nice standard toile, but (hold onto your hats here), it's actually super-soft flannel!! This 1yd piece might become a backing for a baby quilt. It's sooo soft.

Thanks so much for the great fabric! This is fun!

Wahoo! This is fun. See the lovely items I received yesterday:

From snacker, a beautiful piece of batik--I love batik!:

And from tesstessi: (who totally HOOKED ME UP!)

AND ALSO....

Thanks for being such great swap partners tesstessi and snacker! I hope you both like your goodies.  Wink

I KNOW!  That brocade on the top left is absolutely stunning!  I have NO idea what I'll use it for, but I'm thinking something that involves the upper portion of my body, snug and showing a lot of skin!  The butterflies are so hot for one of my daughter's quilts, and so are the hearts.  I really needed some dark or black fabrics to anchor everything else that's going on.  And the other three scraps are so cute!  I have a feeling they'll be incorporated into garments for Kit in some fashion or another, maybe some pocket linings for knitted coats, or a handbag.  (She's three, so she's starting to really dig bags.  Very grown up, you know.)

And the fabric that Snacker sent me... I was stunned by it's beauty!  Seriously!  It's so hot!  I don't know yet what it will be, but whatever it turns into will be something I adore.  I might have to just stretch it on a frame, maybe add some embroidered embellishments and call it artwork, hang it on my wall.  (Home's these days do not have near enough fabric panels as art!  Oh how I long for the 60's.)  It actually coordinates quite well with the other artwork in my living room.  It even has the same colors as Patrick Nagel's Sushi Girl.  Cheesy

Just a hint, it says "excuslively for JOANN stores" on the edge.  Cheesy

It is so wonderful that I don't even know exactly what I want to use it for yet, but I am planning on taking it over to michaels this afternoon (where I still have some gift certificate!) and buying some beads, embroidery thread and maybe some sequins that match.  I can't wait to do some embroidery on this puppy.  Maybe just one "wheel" design.  I don't even know.  I just want to do it so bad!  What scares me a little (because I didn't actually know I was quite this vintage-funky) is that I actually really might embroidery on it, and then stretch it and hang it as a piece of artwork on my wall.  The long way.  Sort of asian in inspiration.  I even know where it would fit.  It really does match the other artwork on my walls.  Sushi Girl (actually, she is untitled, I think, but fondly refered to as Sushi Girl, but is really Commemorative #3) has the same light pink / salmon color on her shirt, the yellow and red on her headband match, and her packground is exactly the same color as the background on this.  And it is also the same color as my walls.  And the dark red matches my shears.  It really would fit right in as a piece of art.  Am I completely crazy??

I got some great fabrics in this swap! I am excited to show everyone!

The first package I got was from Snacker, she sent this adorable floral fabric! It's absolutely perfect in everyway, and I think I'll make something cute for myself with it!

The next fabric I receive was from ladybugger.  I mentioned that I loved batiks, and she really outdid herself wtih this one! The colors are so rich, I think it's going to become a summer dress!

The last package I recieved was from Lothruin! She sent some wonderful and amazing fabrics including this precious vintage brocade she got at an estate sale:

Then this very awesome batik that can be a skirt, or a length of fabric. I am of making either a skirt, pillows for the house, or just leaving it like it is!

And last but not least, she managed to find something that fell under my "weirder the better crazy funky" thrift store find.

Ironically enough, this crazy fabric is the same fabric that my grandmother used for my little sisters baby blankie!! She cut out the crazy motifs, and stitched them onto a caclico! I think I may need to make some pillows or something, my sisters getting married in May and this would be a great gift!

Thank you all for being so generous and sending such beautiful fabrics!

I got my last piece of fabric, and it is a whopper!  A HUGE piece of fabric.  123" of tiny brown gingham check.  It's so lovely.  I'll get a pic when my hubby gives me a moment on the scanner.  It's just the perfect fabric for an apron, or a sundress, or... gosh.  I just think it's great!

I've gotten some awesome fabric the last couple days!!

From raindrops:

red with black writing in Spanish (I think?), and a gorgeous Japanese print with koi (I'll have to make something for my sister with it - we have an inside joke about koi/carp...long story  Tongue)

From kaesea:

three beautiful Japanese prints (can anyone guess what kinds of fabric I asked for?).  I think the one on the left is my favorite, then again I love the green background on the right, and the flowers in the middle are different from anything else I have...

and <drumroll> she totally spoiled me by throwing in this piece:

kaesea and raindrops - I love everything, thanks for feeding my fabric addiction!!!,

I just wanted to post to say that I received from handlethis yesterday. Unfortunately, my camera has gone AWOL (I've been cleaning my office... looks worse right now than when I started!) but I can describe 'em for you -- a lovely orangey-melon colored fake fur and a forest green suede-y microfiber-y one. Mmmm... soft!

Thanks, handlethis! They're great!
