That's SO awesome, but how well does hot glue hold the fabric down? I've got a couple of dogs, and a couple of boys (8 and 28) in the house who are rough on furniture... Can it withstand every day living?

Yes, yes!  It does great.  Be sure and use lots of glue, holding it in place until it cools a little bit so that you have a good hold.  It should be perfect for your house.

I did this yesterday!  Thanks for the inspiration!  My daughter had this ratty old recliner that was ripped up on the sides and just plain ugly.  We worked on it yesterday morning and in under 2 hours we were done with a fantastic piece of furniture.  It's comfortable and adorable.  We're going to make t-shirt pillows to go with it.

Oh wow!  The t-shirt pillows sound perfect. Can you post a picture??  I am so tickled that you were inspired to cover your recliner with jeans like I did.  woohoo!

We did something similiar to an old couch I had in my college days.  Except we cut out uniform rectangles and it took FOREVER to turn it into material that we could refinish the couch with.  Your idea looks so much quicker and neater than what we did.  Awesome job.

So you think you're special?  Let me tell you something, individuality is a myth.  We're all part of the same oozing cancer called humanity.

I have two matching green leather chairs that my kids have wore out and this will be great.. I tried expensive slip covers and they were a mess to deal with....

Thanks for the idea....
