When I went to Hancock Fab. to pick up my other $1 Butterick pattern I also got this one:

and I plan to do view E (the bottom one on the left side) with this fabric... anyone else want to try it? Wink

how experienced do I need to be to do this dress?  Does it include a zipper?  I can put one in, but I don't have a zipper foot and it's just harder to do for me.  But if it's fairly simple, I'd love to join in!

all the dresses on this pattern look pretty easy - no collars, maybe 3 pieces to the skirt, pretty basic I think... view E does have a 22" long zipper however, but don't let that stop you  Grin  let me know what you think?

ok, so I cut the dress out, realized I didn't have enough for the lining (not sure why) and had to use my sash material for that... I'm either going to make a smaller sash or go back this weekend and get some more.

That's my update

So I fixed my lining problem and came to s slight sizing problem, I'm 2 sizes, my top was a 12 and my bottom was a 14, so I made the 14 to fit my waist but the top was too big.  So I took it in at the shoulders and that's just going to have to do it... Next time I'll make the 2 sizes and then fit them together...
Here are the results (with a thin sash):

I used this pattern as my first sewing project. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g141/__Cat__/thDress.jpg

I shortened the skirt about 6 inches and I enlarged the chest a couple of inches.
