Does anyone have any methods for making Victorian-esque Valentines? I assume it's just clippings glued together, but does anyone know where I can find high-quality vintage images? Or have any other sorts of ideas? The cards of old were so gorgeous and I'd love to replicate that.

My apologies if this is addressed somewhere else.

Thank you!

i just bought a set of 24 victorian valentine note cards with envelopes by punch studio at barnes and noble for only $6.95.i bought the valentine set, there is also an all occasion set. i think rather than sending them as is, i would scan them all, or make color copies and then trick them out with rhinestones and glitter. i colllect german scrap and other ephemera images, and they are really expensive for the originals, so this is the best buy i've found on them, but if you just want one little image, maybe you could look on ebay.

Art Chix Studio has some nice collage sheets with Victorianesque pictures. This one in particular features a lot of Valentiney pictures. You can find similar colage sheets at craft stores, too.

Here is a link to vintage images you can print out for free. Just use cardstock in your printer and the images will be nice and sturdy for you to play around with.

The wonderful Miss Mary sells CDs chock full of authentic reproduction Victorian ephermera. If you visit her website, be sure to see the archived "Miss Mary's Gazette"s, as they are wonderful!
