my apartment has a number of bare walls. so while i was procrastinating yesterday, i decided to make something...sort of! my fiance and i had this idea for a while. i think we must've got the idea from somewhere, but all i can remember is seeing something similar in some silly action movie from the 60s. anyway! here is the lovely...thing!

It took me about five minutes to do. All you need is string and thumb tacks! I would've liked to use white thumb tacks, but all we had was brass! Let me know what you think!

That's pretty cool! I bet it would look neat with variegated too! You could change colors with the seasons, or buy those teeny clothespins and put pictures up... endless possibilities!

I think intergrating pictures into that would be a really nice way to make the art stand out some more. Especially if you expanded it out some with more string Smiley

those are realy good ideas! maybe hang some polarioids? i think if i hung polarioids, i would have to use some twine (like the kind for binding newspaper). we plan on doing a HUGE one in the kitchen! so maybe we'll hang pics on that one!

That would definitely be a good idea! You could even use the kitchen one for notes and such too Smiley Very very creative!

This idea came in very handy, as I just couldn't stand to look at my huge white-ass walls anymore.  I'm also likely moving in 2ish months, so I needed something quick and removable.

After class today I went to the fancy yarn store and this is what I ended up with:

It's still a little sparse for my liking, so I might make a return trip to said yarn store and add more to it.
