This is knit, but I haven't yet posted an FO on this board and wanted to showcase it here instead of on the knit board.

I started this about two months ago, but set it down (like I do with all of the projects for myself!) so I could do stuff for others.

Overall, I really like how this turned out, and I was totally psyched to see something that I could actually make for myself!  At a 44 DDD, that's not always easy.

I crocheted the rib band as opposed to knitting it because I didn't have a size 5 circular.  I still need to put elastic in it, but I was too excited to get a finished picture of it.

I definitely suggest this pattern for all of you busty knitting gals that have a hard time finding sexy, size appropriate knit projects!

I used Ornaghi filati Gong.  I couldn't find anything with elastic (which is what the pattern calls for) so I tried this.  It took just a tad over 2  50g skeins.  If I make this again, I'll have to look harder for an elastic yarn, I think it would help with the overall appearance.

That really does look like it fits you good.  It is really cute.  I don't knit but for those that do maybe you could post the link to the pattern.  I might convert it for crochet anyway because I would like to have one of those for sunbathing in the summer.

You can find the pattern here:  http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer04/PATTzaftig.html

I'm really much better at crochet than knitting, I'd love to try to convert this pattern to crochet.  If you happen to do it, I'd be thrilled to see the finished product!

OMG!  I love that!  I think it turned out great, now I want to make one for myself!  I am going to go and get that pattern right now.  I have often gone to the knitty site, but hadn't seen that one!  Thanks for sharing.

Hey, cute one .. Boobholders that actually hold something - what a nice surprise !

Also, I think I'm going to give it a try. But I've got a truly dumb newbie question that nobody else seems to have any problem with .. What kind of increase do you do in the middle of the cup ? Hate it when they don't write it out in detail. I tried knitting in front and back but it looked completely different and I really like the way it originally is.

If I remember correctly, you purl into the front and back of designated stitches every...fourth row I think.   When I first started I had a hard time understanding, because the instructions for the increases were below the short row directions.   I'm notoriously bad about not reading through instructions before I start  Roll Eyes
