Inspired by this post:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28194.0
I bought the book and made the monkey Smiley

Thing is, I made him for my 18month old and can't use the cool eyes, so had to make them out of felt.

I tried 3 times to sew a smile and eyebrows on and I SUCK at it.  I have no idea how to get it to look so nice.

So I may be done with my feature-less monkey unless anyone has any great tips.....

That is SUCH a cutie. I totally suck at sewing/embroidering on features, and I've decided to embrace the, er... asymmetry and call it my style. I think he looks great as is.

I like him just as he is! Think of it as kind of Waldorf-inspired... those dolls have no faces so the kids can imagine them.  This way your baby can imagine all the expressions he likes - mouth open, mouth closed, smiling, frowning, quizzical eyebrows, The Rock's 1 upraised eyebrow, crazy monkey in the closet angry eyebrows...
