Okay, so I finished my 2nd project! First was a pair of fisherman pants...but i'm not going to be wearing them much.

THIS is more like it.

And I learned a bit.  I made some mistakes, and now understand what the consequences are... Smiley  *picks wedgie*   Wink

And my sewing machine is still 'acting out'.
(Does tension change on it's own? I have loops on one side near the end of the project... I hadn't changed anything when it started--I changed thread for the project, and was sewing into flannel.)

And now my dog LOVES my lap. Smiley  I think I might make her a little bean bag cover from the scraps for her to snuggle with.  Or a jacket with fleece inside and out.

Those are too cute! I love the fabric! I like the idea about making a bed for your dog. I bet she'd love that.

(I thought the pic was large for the board)

I made a little bed for my dog out of old swatches that my mom had lying around and an old king size pillow. now I can't get him to get off the thing.

Did you try unthreading the whole machine, including the bobbin, and rethreading it? Sometimes that fixes it.

Cute pants...

My cats prefer the hard, cold ground to a soft, warm bed. I wish they would sleep in something I made, but I'm not going to waste any fabric cash on them!

Check the bobbin - Ive found that sometimes my bobbin thread escapes from its little tension-regulated hole - and that wreaks all kinds of havoc

Also, the tension sometimes needs to be changed if you're sewing on different fabric-say you go from a sheer to a flannel. I've found it needs to just be tweaked a little when I go to totally weird fabrics. Love the fabric!

aww how cute and great job!!

If you put the thread going the wrong direction in the bobbin I think that can cause looping too. Mine needs to go clockwise not counter-clockwise....Something else to check anyway.
