I know, jean skirts are the sock monkeys of recon clothing (wait - sock monkeys are recon clothes, duh), but I'm looking forward to spring and had to make some skirts.  These are my first jean to skirt recons ever and I used an excellent tutorial http://www.savvyseams.com/clothing/jeanskirt.php I found on craftster.

My first applique ever.

And the long one with a pillowcase hem:

Sorry about posting something so done, but I couldn't resist because I am so proud since I am just learning how to sew.

Hey thanks for the comments!

I gotta tell ya, the long one feels very nice to wear.  So go ahead, tear up your jeans!  I can't believe I lived this long without a denium skirt.  Why didn't anyone tell me they were so comfortable?  I'm waiting for nicer weather before I test run the shorter one (I live in Canada - burrrrrr).  I'm working on another one that should reach my ankles.  I'll post the pic when I'm done.

I love LOVE the first one. It's funny, because I made a skirt from some old jeans (stolen from my sister Cheesy ) last week, and stencilled a skull+crossbones on it.
