One of my favorite childhood toys was a vintage Dakin sawdust-filled deer that belonged to my aunt. It recently became unrepairable, so I used the pieces to make a pattern, and made these in her honor. I'm having a great time using up all my fabric scraps. I'm tempted to keep Nora...

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.

There's another thread on here with a very similar pattern, much more professional than I could manage. =)

I'm very into Britney Spears' early work, before she sold out, so mostly her, um, finger painting and macaroni art.

Wow, I didn't even think anyone would like Oliver! He was my very first deer and I didn't think he turned out as well, especially the eyes...but he got snapped up on Etsy two hours after I put him up there! He'll have a good home...
