Thanks everybody!  I'll add patterns later today.  They still need a little tweaking.

guitar_girl02, I think the green one needs a pom pom too.

Did you by any chance knit that with bamboo yarn?? It has the lovely sheen of some bamboo yarn I saw recently at my LYS. Nice hat. Nice baby.  Wink

No, it's just Red Heart Baby Soft.  But it does have a really nice sheen; it's pretty much indestructible and one skein can be used for a dozen projects.

Adorable!-- the hats and the baby.  I'll have to go find someone with a kid I can knit for.

Thanks for posting the pattern. I just made the ear flap hat this weekend. Here's a pic:

It doesn't look so great because it's not on a cute baby.  Smiley I'm sending it to afghans for Afghans as part of their baby hat/bootie drive.

Anyway, it was fun and fairly easy to knit, although joining the earflaps was a bit tricky. And I didn't knit up a full 5 inches as your pattern says, because it felt like it was getting too tall. Anyway, I love the pattern. Thanks for writing it up.

OK, the baby is supercute to begin with, but the hats make him even cuter.

I made the spiral rib hat for my dh coworkers baby and it turned out so cute!  Thanks for sharing the pattern!  I was working on the hat during my weekly knitting group and a lot of people asked for the pattern!
