My friend is going on a cruise tomorrow so I thought it would be fun to make her a snazzy new clutch.
And, well, of course I couldn't just make ONE, I had to make two: one for her and one for me!

I used the tutorial posted by Laurasaurus (though I had to change the band a bit as the result of...ummm, my own stupid mistake with the scissors):

For the tags, I must give credit to smoon26:

Wow, I feel so un-original now! Ok, I guess the color choices were mine. Smiley

So, this is for my friend:

And for me!

I ended up moving the tag to the top bc it looked a little funky if I put anything inside the bag.

I agree with goldfinch and qbmaya. Your clutches are awesome! The brown one is my fav! What material are they made out of? It looks like canvas by how crisp the folds are. Once again, great job!

BTW is your friend going on the Dave Matthews cruise?

Beautiful work!
Is the tag a custom job? Looks very professional.

Thank you!!! The fabric is from the home decor section in Joann's and Hancock's...and the orange is a bit more canvas-y and flexible than the brown.

The tags are custom...I got the idea and technique from the post I referred to. I really didn't want a fabric tag bc I didn't want it to fray.  Plus, sewing around the tag each time didn't seem like too much fun.  Smiley

I've sold a few things but only to people I know...I'm too much of a fraidy cat to try out etsy or something like that!

nabbymac, I don't believe it is the Dave Matthews cruise...but that would be an awesome cruise to go on!
