I bought my beads at Michaels for $4 and I probably had enough to make four with on pack. They had a decent size selection colorwise too.

Which beads did you purchase? I looked at Michaels and Hobby Lobby but did not see anything that said SIZE 6. The "E" beads looked like they might work so I figured I'd try them but I'm still waiting to get the yarn.

The ones I got at Micheals are "Jewelry and Craft Essentails" in a blue package. THey are 6/0 "E" beads, so the ones you got should be just fine.

Weee! I cast on last night, Im maybe three inches into it...
Im ixnay-ing the beads and stealing the button idea. I think my sister (whom the hat is for) will appreciate that more, as well as myself when I decide to borrow it!

I started this the other day, and finished it in a day and a half!
I didn't put beads on because I couldn't find any big enough.
I think the pattern was super easy to read, and it came out lookin' FIIIINE... I was going to give it away, but I think I'll have to make another for me.
THanks for the button idea, I might just do that!

Here's mine! I've been really horrible about posting this. I finished it about a week ago.  Embarrassed

I used Rowan Cashsoft DK in "Mirage". This is the first hat I've ever made, and the first time I used beads. It took me a couple of tries, but once I got the hang out it, it was a pretty fast knit. I plan on making a few more of these for gifts.

I keep thinking about Odessa, TX and Odessa, Ukraine.   Roll Eyes

nice hats though. If I didn't have such short hair, I'd think about making one.

Wow,  That hat looks just like mine.  Now I don't have to post mine Smiley  I used some leftover wool from a baby sweater and pearlized beads with a blue undertone.  I had a hard time keeping in pattern.  I kept having to fix my mistakes several rows later when I cought them.  Fortunately it is really hard to see the mistakes even up close.
