Thanks for the compliments! I am already thinking of making another in some Silk Garden.  It would have to be modified of course, but I think I can retain the basic design of the hat.

I've cast on in the indulgence on size 5 circs. I swatched a size 6 at the yarnstore and the fabric was just too loosey-goosey. Strangely enough, I had to take some repeats out of the pattern to make it small enough. If I had done 110 stitches I think it would have been huge. I have tried it on using waste yarn though, and it seems just right. It's quick knitting, I have about 4" done already!

Mine's almost too small.  I can barely get it on my head.  I didn't think using US 5s would make that much of a difference.  I might do it again adding a couple repeats.

I do like the yarn and the buttons.  I just wish it were a bit bigger.

I'm in!  This is my first KAL and I couldn't resist Odessa.  I will be using Debbi Bliss Alpaca Silk DK in white because I went to two yarn stores in Portland, OR and neither had Rowan Cashsoft DK and I wanted to start today.

I experienced some difficulty stringing the beads, but  once I found the right size needle it was better (not great, but doable).  I am now sitting with a glass of wine and I will be stringing away.

Oh, and because I loved this hat so much, I also got a ball of Rowan Yorkshire Tweed DK in Scarlet.  But one at a time...on to stringing beads.

It's lovely.  Did you do the ribbing on 4s and the body on 6s?

No, I used US5s on the entire thing, since I didn't want to go out and buy 2 sets of needles.

And thank you for the compliment!

Perhaps adding another 10 stitches (1 repeat) would be better for using US 5s.

I used the 4s/6s and it had plenty of room, so maybe adding those extra 10 stitches for the 5s would take care of the smallness.

Bugger. Mine ended up being too small. I tried it on a few times and it felt fine. But then for some reason I tried it on again, just as I got to the decreases. Too small. Sad Oh well. It was such a quick knit, I'll just start over!
