This is a real mixed bag.  i figured i'd just lump it all together because, well, it seems pretty miscellaneous to me.  Wink  First off was me playing with shrinky-dinks and sharpie markers, with a little bit of metallic marker thrown in for good measure (these look better in person):

I actually have no idea what i'm going to do with those, they have holes in the top so you could make pendants or whatever out of them.  We'll see.  Anyways, next is a set of coasters I made with some of my favorite authors on them:

That's Burroughs, Hunter S. thompson, Anais Nin, Bukowski, Henry Miller, and Irvine Welsh, muddled up.  Smiley

I made this deck of cards photobook, a pin-up switchplate cover, and bookmark for a friend:

Here's some ridiculous magnets, made for the same friend (personal favorites include "drink and DIE" and the sue johanson "sex with sue" one where she's demonstrating how to insert something in her danger zone):

Lastly, and unrelatedly, is a pair of mittens i made because i'm going to Ontario to visit friends and family and it's cold there.  No, seriously, it's cold.  Wink  Made from an old woolly skirt, scraps of white fabric for the argyle design, and an old fleece scarf for the lining:

okay, so, thank you for taking this journey with me of "THINGS TIPH HAS MADE RECENTLY THAT DON'T BELONG IN OTHER CATEGORIES"

yar.

thanks guys!  Smiley

I love love love the author coasters. Where did the pictures come from?

They're just pictures i found by doing google image searches.  I had to edit them a little for size and then just printed them out and trimmed them before attaching them to the backing, and spray-lacquering them.  Bada-boom.

I was actually kind of a cheater on this one...no special technique for the base - just bought some el-cheapo dollar store coasters, the kind with cork on the bottom and then laminated paper designs on the top.  I cut my pictures out of print-outs on regular printer paper, glued them on and sat some books on top so the edges would adhere well, and then went a little wacky with the spray lacquer - let's say...five or six coats. You could use lots of different things to finish them but I had the lacquer around.  It was really quick and they look sturdy and shiny at the end.  And that's that.  Smiley
