My best friend is in college in the states and I am stuck here in the Bahamas.  I totally lost track of time and now realize that Valentine's day is right around the corner!!

So far this is what I have...

A homemade card that says "Don't be an Ass....Be my Valentine" with a hand drawn donkey pic on the front. (did i steal that idea from somewhere on here? oops)
And I'm taking pics of some of our friends and family holding up signs that spell out "WE MISS YOU"
A "coupon" for a homemade Vegetarian dinner when he comes home

The postage is gonna kill me, so gifts that are kinda flat/light are ideal...

I got this suggestion from a friend who is a veteran of long distance relationships. It could work for a close friend, too. Sentimental, cheap, lightweight, and practical in cold weather!

A Warm Fuzzy Hug

1. Get some fleece that's as wide as your arms are long.

2. Splat yourself facedown on the fleece with arms stretched out and fingers splayed. Have someone trace with chalk or something easily washable around your arms to your shoulders and stop. Connect the lines from shoulder to shoulder and armpit to armpit to make a kind of this: >=====<

3. Send it to far away person to wear as a scarf and get a hug from you every day!

Too cutesy? Hell, it's Valentine's day.

well if you dont want to draw you could always use photos of yourselves?

or do what i do when i cant draw something- look up a picture of it on google and that should help you draw it. i always have to look at things for them to come semi- real looking. and if you dont want to keep redrawing it copy it and you can cut it out and paste it on the pages.

but honestly even if its not perfectly drawn i'm sure it'll look really good- i once made someone a book about a goat that was seriously the stupidest thing ever, and he STILL has it a year later haha

I was in a LD relationship for 3 years and one Vday my boyfriend had a great idea. He called my mom and kinda set it up (so if you know someone whos a roommate of this person or someone who can help out..thatd be great)

but what he did was set up a scavenger hunt. He had my mom put various envelopes everywhere in the house (in certain spots he plannned out) and I had ot hunt out my gift which was a pillow with our picture on it and some words on it through a transfer.

kinda time consuming but it was really sweet.
