David bowie monkey a la ziggy stardust.  I made it for my friend adrian's birthday.  He has one silver/brown eye and one blue eye.  Also, I added a "A loves D" monogram on monkey's chest.

I started this monkey thinking it was going to be a dorky monkey, I was making him some glasses and a pocket protector...however, he looked more like my crabby grandfather...so he got a little rocking chair sewn onto his chest.  I am planning on adding some hair coming out of his ears.

Also, I am currently working on LULU, she doesn't have any ears yet, but she is wearing pasties!

I would love some suggestions, or some inspiration...you may get your own personal sock monkey!  I think I am addicted...but as long as I can take pictures first for my gallery.

I was toying around with the idea of kiss monkeys...so much makeup!  How fun!  Trouble is... I don't have any friends who are kiss fans...
I am trying to work out how to do hair without using floppy ol' yarn.  I was thinking making a "feltie" of the hair, and then sewing it on...maybe doing some detail work in embroidery thread.  I desperatly need to make an elvis one and some beatles ones...

I had an prince and an elvis costello suggestion at work as well.  what would be the ultimate?

Prince!!! Hands down! You could make him all purple lame with big red lips.

As for hair, how about that curly doll hair you can but in the store? Maybe that would work.

I loves me some David Bowie, but seeing him in sock monkey form is just too fabulous for words.

I think sock monkees would be perfect...I didn't think of the doll hair...seeing that stuff in plastic bags in craft stores is tres creepy.
