Wow, this is beautiful.  I've been wanting to get to trying doilies myself and this just makes me jealous at how good you are *grin*  Wonderful job!

Listener15 you should go for it! I didn't know anything about making doilies until I decided to take the plunge and figure it out. It seems really overwhelming at first BUT if you can take it just one round at a time, you can do it. Good luck!  Grin

Thanks for the advice  Smiley  Right now I've just gotten down how to do a basic granny square and am learning how to stitch them together.  There is so much to learn with crocheting that I'm really excited all the time to get to the next thing.  Tongue  Any suggestions of doily books?

That is lovely you have done a great job.
Macking doily is not that hard I actually like it more macking Afghans ore sweaters whole in one stitch ,that  scares me and I don't think I would have patience to do that.. I Just "tack it one row at the time" so doilies are more "Exiting" Smiley
I found that It is easier to mack doilies when your pattern is drawn in the shame not just written.

What a wonderful doily!  Good for you for taking on an 'experienced' pattern for only your second doily.

Sorry, girly, I don't have any suggestions. I only own one! But I bet you could find a simple FREE pattern online. That way you could practice and see if you like making doilies before buying a book.
