I found this skirt at the thrift shop for 1.50 and loved the polka dots.  At a size one or two it wouldn't fit my right thigh so I thought it would make a cute dress for my daughter.  



All I did was take in the sides and use the leftover fabric for straps.  I kept the zipper in the back and she loves it.
