I made a scarf with a double strand of hunter orange and shocking pink. I thought it was pretty awesome. It might be even more so for a dude.

You could also throw in some gaggy color of Fun Fur.  Brown, maybe?

Anything fluro (or neon) eg. green, pink, orange, combined with kakhi.

I think yellow combines with a lot of colours to produce yuck.

My husband works for the Illinois Department of Transportation and they have to wear what I like to call IDOT Orange so they can be seen on the road and not get hit by speeders through constructions sights (yes, I did get on a soap box for a minute  Grin).  He wanted fingerless gloves, in IDOT Orange, and I actually found it at Hobby Lobby.  That BRIGHT orange and a light blue or pink might be horrid!  I don't have a pic - but I will try to post one when I get home.

I believe I have some of this particular horrid shade of orange in my stash. (It was on clearance for a dollar at my LYS and I was teaching kids to knit at the time. They loved it.) It will definitely get the wearer noticed by passing traffic. I'd love to donate it to the cause if needed. PM me.

You might try some variegated (I have 4 skeins of a hideous hunter green and pink) double stranded with something that makes no sense.  Camouflage variegated with light blue?

What you might do is send a few friends, separately, to the local craft shop, each having to pick out a skein.

Ha! I like the idea of sending different friends to buy yarn separately. That's sure to come up with bad color combos.

I'm going with neon yellow, christmas red, and baby poo green.

Now that would be hideous.

Not to mention different fiber content.  You know SOMEONE's going to see some rainbow "fun fur" and think they found the Holy Grail of yarn.
