Hallo!  I learned how to knit yonks ago (and only know how to do the garter stitch in something long straight...namely, a scarf), but I haven't knitted anything in years.

I finally started taking knitting classes at this awesome store here in Columbus, Ohio, called Wholly Craft, which features awesome DIY stuff that local crafty ladies make, and she also has people offer their services (knitting, beginner's sewing and pattern making, etc).

So I started knitting this lovely thang and realised that I may've cast on too many stitches, as I quickly ran out of yarn!  I didn't have the time to buy more (it's due today!!!) and the store I bought the yarn from is 20 minutes away...And since I changed my colours a bunch of times, I had a bunch of ends sticking out that I didn't feel like threading through the scarf to hide them...So i spent an hour making fringe instead!!

I must say that I really love it, it's super warm and I love how it's like a shawl but it's a scarf (hence the Shlarf).  What do you guys think?

please excuse the wonky pose, that camera is frikken heavy...

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

I think it's adorable!  I love the happy colors and the fringe along one side.  Very cool!  Kudos.  Grin

I love the rows they look uneven in a perfect kind of way, and I love the colors, and the fringe. So apparently I love everything about it. Great job, looks like something that would be useful here.
