Actually, I like it better without the pic even though it is quite lovely.

You're right... the impact without the photo is huge.  When faced with these dilemmas I usually opt for making a two page spread (facing pages) so that it looks like that was the plan from the start... you'd just have to find a complementary background (perhaps another stretch of road) to go on the facing page.  It's a lovely theme you worked out.

I think if you framed it, it might block the concept of your passage (hey thats a good pun for your page  Cheesy )
Anyway, you want the road to be never ending, but if you frame it, you'll cut the road off at the horizon and you'll have to turn around and come back.

i also like it w/o the pic... can you resize the road image? if you can, i would resize it to about 3/4 its size, put it in the bottom right hand corner with your pic matted and slightly overlapping on the top left corner. then the phrase can be written under the picture on blank space and crossing over the trees of the road image. cute idea

the road and the quote together alone works for me.....i agree that it may look good to have the couple pic on the facing page, so a two page layout?

I also like it without the pic in it but I was wondering what it would look like if you could get the picture in the trees. I'm sure no one will come up with this one but some how I pictured it when I saw the two together. i know I'm wierd!
