I've always wondered if there was an easy way to do this.  I'm not sure if I have an applique foot or not (must go check!), but I've got a project I'm working on right now that could use some homemade appliques on it.  It'll make the final product so much nicer!  Thanks for taking the time to write this tutorial.  And the pictures are very helpful!
