Shiitake, what part of Finland are you in? I visited friends in Jyvaskyla for 4 weeks in 1992. We also went for a visit somewhere in the countryside to her Grandfather's house (GORGEOUS) and once to Savonlinna. I'd love to go back to Savonlinna in summer some day! (It was easter when I visited).

I live in Kuopio, it's in eastern Finland.I lived in Savonlinna for three years, 2002-2005 Smiley Lovely little town and in summer it was so beautiful! I miss that place very much.

Here is some more inspiration, these 3 were taken during a walk in Wales last June...

And an image of the Wish Tree from the Healing Fields at Glastonbury last year. You could add your own wish to its branches. I spent ages reading them before adding my own.

The trees of my neighborhood...Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN USA, in the deepest heart of winter...

My favorite...I'd love to sit on this branch with a good a book!

I love this bark...so pretty!

This one has a lovely shape. I love in winter that you can see the intricate "bones" of the trees!

Me as a tree! Haha. I love the soft bed of needles at the base of really big pines. This shot makes me think of the U2 song "Shadows and Tall Trees"

I love that about winter too, Batgirl!!! I like to sit at work and doodle the shapes of the trees during down time.

So this isn't the best picture, but I just took it Friday- literally outside my window. It's taken from my desk. I work at UC Santa Cruz, so we have gorgeous redwoods.
