I stopped by a "craft village" the other day and was reminded of why I always hated crafts - cutesy and country was in overabundance - wreaths made from all manner of shriveled sticks, big-and-tacky signs painted with dumb jokey slogans, lots of gingham and teddy bears.  While I love Craftster, I think we could up the "irreverence" factor with a cynical craft swap.  How about a swap of sarcastic/postmodern items?  Maybe create something in the style of a cheesey country craft but give it a hipster message.

I'm not into rude/sexy/suggestive, but I do like to poke fun at plain-old and old-and-musty.  For example, I was crocheting a soft gray scarf and realized the end looked like a fishtail, so I added some felt facial features and ended up with the Dead Fish Scarf.  (Appears in the December Swap Gallery.)

How about a swap of cynical/weird items?  "No tea cozies without irony!"  Back to the basics of Craftster!

Maybe it could be a One Tiny Thing variant.  I have finally, FINALLY caught up on swaps, and I've still got crafts to do, plus reading, plus writing, plus my friend's wedding, plus work...  ack!   Cheesy

I'm done with all my swap obligations and I'm trying my darnest to sit on my hands so that I won't sign up for another swap so soon...but it ain't working *sigh*  A cynical one tiny thing swap sounds like the thing for me!  It'll be great if you could impose a size restriction of sorts...like no larger than 3 inches x 3 inches or something like that Wink

I was thinking cross stitch too, but mine would have to be bigger than 3x3.
