If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

Hello! Just started biking--New Year's resolution  Tongue (why do I do this to myself?) My bike is a little--boring. Saw this fabulous flowered seat at a bicycle shop but it's $40 and I need other basics first--like, WD-40 and some sort of light so cars can see me. Any advice on painting bicycle seats--what paint to use so I don't end up with flowers all over my bum? Also interested in painting the helmet, but that looks tricky. Has anyone seen those cool plastic spoke beads we had on out bikes as kids (I used to get them in cereal boxes!), or license plates, or handle bar streamers?  Roll Eyes If I'm going to ride this machine daily, I want it to have some PERSONALITY!! I crewed the AIDS ride a few years agao and one rider had a pink shag carpet seat cover--it was a scream and tres funky, too!! Thanks for any advice you might give!

I teach High School English and I have my students do a semester project that doesn't necessarily have to be like a regular paper, etc... A few years ago I had a student who loved to bike and loved poetry.  He printed out all of his favorite poems and quotations ( lots of Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs) and then glued them decoupage style all over the bike frame. Then he used polyurethane to seal it. He videotaped himself doing tricks on it and called it poetry in action.  He got an A!!!

Oh, that is FABULOUS!!! I'm a huge reader myself and I LOVE that idea. I'm thinking some Watership Down, some beat poets, a little Emerson....thank you for this FANTASTIC idea!
