confusion between what we have and what we are...

So I clicked on a thread on this board entitled "Ice Cream Hat", hoping that it would be a hat in the shape of an ice cream cone.  I was sadly disappointed (no offense to the maker of the other ice cream hat, of course... I promise that your hat was beautiful; I just got my hopes up while the page was loading.)
So I said, "I should make a hat shaped like an ice cream cone."
After this was finished, I admit, I moped around for at least a week contemplating whether to keep it as it is or rip it out completely and start over.  I wasn't sure if I got the shape right.  I'm still convinced I could have done better.  But today this girl at school told me that she'd pay me $20 if I made her one just like it, so I thought if it's worth $20 to her, it must be worth a new topic on Craftster!
Behold, the ice cream cone hat... imperfect in shape, but still apparently worth $20:

*UPDATE*  2/05

I have made a second model, this time hopefully a little closer to the semblance of soft serve ice cream.  It is taller and less filled out than the original, and I really like the height of it this time.  I'm hoping to make a third and final hat, which will be a combination of the two styles.
And yes, I have added a cherry (pattern here! http://thymefuller.blogspot.com/2005/12/strawcherry.html).
Here is hat #2:

Sorry for the creepy expression--I never quite know what to do with my face for these pictures so "blue steel" seemed to work.

That is adorable. Totally worth $20. It shouldn't be exactly perfect - icecream never is.

Great Hat!! looks like you have a cream pie on your head, or a cupcake...hehhehehe   I'd make the "Cone" part a bit taller though, cuz being so short gives it the appearence of the bottom part of a muffin or cupcake.

Make your freind a chocolate vanilla swirl one!
