I got this UGLY UGLY UGLY long plaid skirt with pleats in all the wrong places (I WISH I had pictures!) from a vintage clothing store that was going out of business. Everything in the store was a buck! So I grabbed the skirt and forgot I even had it for a year! Well, I finally came across it the other day and revamped it into a mini skirt! Yay!
Trying to take out the original pleats without ripping the fabric took over an hour.I took some spare black stretchy fabric for the waist band part and added a small panel of the plaid fabric to it also. Then I pleated it! I didn't think to see how the pleats would look ON ME before sewing them, so the placement is kind of odd, but I like it!! I am obsessed with pleats, so I figure I can't go wrong! Smiley There is no waist fastener, I just sewed the waist band small enough at the top so the skirt won't fall down, ha ha!

Close up: (NOTE: My tank top does not actually clash with the other reds, it's just the flash on the camera! Lol)

Sexy shot (hahahaha):

Pretty tights!:

full body (PLEASE excuse the excessive fatness! Thank you):

What do you guys think??? Also, I am thinking of somehow adding a pocket to the waist band part, but I don't know how! Would that look alright?

Thanks for taking a look! Smiley

WAY COOL! I love it!! It totally looks like all my skirts that I made, I would so wear that skirt, and that is the best kind of compliment that I can give.

You've worked so hard for everything you've got
Ten minutes later, you're a loser
Count your blessings and the ones you love
At this point, we beggars can't be choosers.
