So, just to give you a good idea of how MUCH scrapping I did this weekend..we started around 4pm on friday, went to bed at 4:30am (12.5...minus maybe an hour for breaks, so 11.5), woke up at 7, went and took a nap at 1 (6 hrs minus .5 break = 5.5), woke up at 4p, went to bed at 5:30a (13.5 hrs minus 1 hr break = 12.5), woke up at 7a, packed up and left at 10a (3 hrs minus .5 for cleanup = 2.5 hrs) so.... 11.5 + 5.5 +12.5 +2.5 = 32 hours of constant scrapbooking. it literally was nothing but sleeping, short breaks for food, and scrapbooking.
I did 58 12x12 pages, 8 5x7 pages, a journal cover, and 4 ATC's.
Firstly, let me say that the food SUCKED. How hard is it to keep a box of veggie burgers in the freezer for when the camp has vegetarians? You're telling me that if there was a vegetarian camper for the summer, they'd have to live off of salads and side veggies? Ugh. Right. so Friday night we had our own food. Saturday breakfast I had eggs, but obviously no bacon, and there was no toast available. Lunch time was Steak sandwiches and "italian salad" I had a steak roll with cheese on it and salad. Dinner..oh, this was great. Hamloaf, Salmon, rice pilaf, snow peas, tortellini salad. The salad was out because it has bacon in it, I tried the salmon (since I'll occasionally do pesco-), but it had hollandise sauce on it, which is made with chicken broth. the RICE PILAF was made with chicken stock. you could smell it coming off it in waves, and the snow peas were soggy. Also, theer was NO caffiene other than coffee/hot tea. So I lived off of the snack food people had brought to share - cheese spreads with crackers, grapes, veggies/dip, etc. Ugh.
Secondly, we had a bit of an electricity issue. half our rooms didn't have electricity. Well, we had it, but it went off at one point and then those peple had to wait 3 hours for itto get fixed. My problem with the electricity was i was in the middle of my shower (both times) when JUST the light sin the bathroom went off. I don't know if the heat lamp was wired wrong or what, but mom had to flick the switch (the lightswitch was outside the bathroom) several times before the light went back on. (speaking of heat lamp - MMMMM. must get one installed in y bathroom.)
Thirdly, we were told we had to be quiet past 11PM because of the other retreat people that were there...only those people were SO LOUD until about 3AM that we could hear THEM from inside our room.
Anyway...On to the pages! Sorry if they're out of order chronologically, I was having issues with my photos.
pages I made for my uncle:
Birthday Beach trip:
as suggested by someone on LiveJournal, though I weaved the red and green strips together as opposed to using individual squares. I took a 1.25" square punch and punched out sections of my Christmas Cards and then mounted rthem on their own 2" square. It's amazing what kinds of small details you find when you are trying to fit stuff into small squares. Every single card I recieved this year is in my scrapbook in some capacity.
Because I have a TON of photos, I thought I'd just link you all to my LJ entry with the rest of the photos:http://annaonthemoon.livejournal.com/818008.html
