I'm about to start a small business and sell my crocheted items through etsy and possibly a local store. Just playing around in photoshop I've come up with a business card. But I think it's a bit too plain. What are your opinions? What could I do to make this card better?

I mainly sell crocheted and knitted items. Hats, scarves and purses mainly. They tend to be on the girly side. (Just wanted to give you an idea of my business.) The name Zombie Love came to me quite suddenly. I have been nikisazombie on (most) all of my screenames, so I did want Zombie in my name. I put the love to convey a bit of girliness. Heh. I don't know, I like the name.Smiley So anyways... yeah. I guess I should show y'all the card, right?

Plain is fine if you put it on paper with a little print to it.  There are a lot of choices for specialty papers out there.  Maybe not a lot of choices in the precut biz card paper, but you can cut them up with a paper cutter or scissors if you need to.

Otherwise, I'd try to make the main logo larger.  Looks like there is a lot of room.  Maybe even put Zombie Love inside a large heart, even a heart with embossing or a shadow for a little dimension.

I agree with the idea of making the logo bigger.  I like the inside the heart idea.  Since you do knitting and crochet, could you make the heart look crocheted (spelling??)? That could look cool.  Play with trying the look of the logo to your product.

Definately make your logo bigger, and there's also no need to actually write out "website" or "email"...

still lacks a little something, but here's a suggestion:

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

As a graphic designer here is my humble opinion. I think the name is cool but if I saw the card on its own I wouldn't have a clue as to what you do or what you sell. I think that since you knit and crochet you should incorporate that around as a border (maybe get the image from a HOW TO knit/crochet book?) or you could scan an unfinished piece and have the string ravel onto your name ... does that make sense? I'll try to do a mock up a little later and post.

Smiley

I agree with bubba*tink' suggestion too.

I like it but I still would increase the size of the logo.

Here is another that I worked up ...

It's not necessary for the name to be really big but the other info was too close in size so I changed it up a bit.

*thanks ebeth! (appreciate the compliment)
