hey guys!

first post... i know that it really isn't that original but i thought that it looked pretty cool when it was done.

the purse as a whole...

opposite side of it...

inside..

hope you like!
the liner was actually from another sewing project from months and months ago (i can't throw ANY fabric away...... none of it!) and the handles were actually made from my ex's web belt that he didn't want. i cut off the metal parts and i put it on there as handles!

these look so great - I have made a few now, but I must admit I'm having problems breaking needles...I really wanted the lining to be sewn in for a more professional finish, but once the needle goes through all that paper and tape and stuff it always breaks lots of times! Has anyone got any better ideas?  Cheesy

You did a great job!  I would be so proud of myself if I made this!  Good use of recycling a belt, too.  (I knew I had hung on to those things for some reason!)  Very nice purse.  Excellent, actually.

the material i used in there was really really really thin... just enough so you couldn't really see the inside and all its imperfections.
i'd try to switch to a different material (a thin one) if you're trying thick material...

your needle shouldn't be breaking.

I never get tired of seeing these - I'm glad you posted!   Yours looks very neatly done - how did you get such crisp edges?

thanks so much!
actually... im very anal about things. i tried not to tape on the outside so you could still get that "weave" feel and see the texture of the overlapping stuff..

when i folded my strips, i took a glass and rolled it over the fold to make sure it was nice a clean fold.

adorable! I like that yoru strips are wide and you can actually see some pictures in them. I have seen others where the strip is very narrow and you don't get a lot of deatail that way.
Did you fuse the ends of the webbing? That stuff is miserable when you don't cause it frays so bad and unravels itself. I learned the hard way on that one!!
Great bag though!

ohYEONG!!, your purse is gorgeous.  I love the colour choices you made in your magazine strips and your obvious attention to detail.  I'm going to attempt this for my February project in the Bag a Month Craftalong.  Also I noticed you said this is your first post.  I hope you post more of your projects - I'd love to see them.

Thats completely awesome.  I never thought about doing something like that before.  My friend was telling me about some purses kinda like that, but yours looks just great!
