Hey everyone, I'm planning to make a tote-bag from tarot cards via the ol' packing tape method. The sides will probably be 4 cards by 3 cards, and the depth will be about 2 cards. (Mind you that tarot cards are longer then normal playing cards. So, two questions:
(1) I want to use traditional fabric straps, but I'm not sure how to affix them to my bag, since it will be tarot cards and tape, and I still want it to be as sturdy as possible. Ideas?
(2) Should I cover the backs and fronts with packing tape? I don't want the outside images to be cloudy or anything, so I'm thinking just backs, but that brings up the issue of sturdyness. Suggestions?
Thanks everyone! Cheesy

instead of packing tape, use clear vinyl. durable/waterproof. make panels by arranging your cards evenly spaced on a sheet of vinyl, sew the other one on top, grid-style. leave an inch for sewing-together space, you know the drill. then you could either make a fabric stap by just sewing it unto the inch or so of tarot-free vinyl on the top edge, or cut the tarot cards in half and make them into straps using the vinyl method. if you do use packing tape, put it on the front and back. the tarot cards will be ruined otherwise. hope i helped.

Thank you! I think I'll definatly look into the vinyl method.... but what do you mean, "grid style"? Also, how should I affix the cards to the vinyl? Do I have to? I assume they'd slide around otherwise...
