Composition Notebook Cover

that's so neat! I have one of those spiral bound index card things for marching band and this would be a great way to not lose my pencil. Now If I could think of a way to attach it to myself, all would be perfect...

I was inspired!
I whipped these girly composition book covers this morning. (the date on my camera lies) My 3 young daughters just love them.
I am in a first-time relationship with my new sewing machine so let's all pretend like my button and pockets are straight and that my stitching is fabulous. I'll get this sewing thing yet!
Anyway, I made a pattern by covering the book with a brown paper bag and using that. As for the pockets... I just slapped 'em on.



I'm not sure if they show up but I put in some of my handmade micro-beaded pens in the pockets.

Okay...I'm gonna free ball this project this week.  I have a close friend's birthday coming up... she'd so love it!!

Wow, these are mighty mighty cool. My friend worships her diaries, and I know where she buys them. They're always the same, just with different covers. Reckon I'd get funny looks if I walked into Paperchase and started measuring their books?

wow awesome, your girls won't care about crooked stitches, my 15 yo still has a denim quilt I made her when she was 5 with terrible unmatched seams and she uses it and refuses all talk of a new quilt, I mean its just haunts me but she loves it. I don't see any crooked pockets though, looks good to me.

sorry about the tute. I am in the process of moving my sewing and craft stuff into a trailer my husband put in the backyard for me, I need a name for my trailer sewing studio btw. But I was shopping for more fabric, oops I mean just looking hehe, and I came across this

same exact way but I used 1/4 in seam allowances and I interfaced my fabric so I trace the pattern onto it and then just sew on the penlines.
