ok so this is my first time posting pictures- i think i FINALLY figured it out!
these are made with new look #6969

cowgirl dress from thrifted light denim fabric:

embroidery i did on the pockets:

then i moved on to this pink floral dress:

um, i got confused with the directions and ended up messing up the arm holes because i was following the sleeved version for a while. but you can't really tell. i might add eyelet lace around them or something.

ok THEN i got this polkadot fabric that i love and tackled the sleeve version.

as you can see its rather LOUD! haha. i've never worn it in public but i love the lil roses!

so, i would recomend this pattern, it was fairly easy and i really like the styles.
what do you guys think?

Nice - I want to make myself some summery dresses before the weather warms up. I will look into this. Although, I own three patterns now and have not been brave enough to tackle any of them. People say it's harder to freehand stuff, but I find it easy - it's the patterns I'm afraid of!

they are a bit daunting until you just buckle down and do one -then you kind of learn how to read the symbols and stuff.
i'm always afraid they won't fit right after all that work but this one is good. although the spagetti strap bodice is a bit looser on me than the other style. i wear it the most though. probably cause the other two are so freakin' loud.
i always make stuff with the weirdest fabric and bright colors and then don't wear it! its just more fun to make! and i have wayyyy too many dresses!

Oh my gosh I have that pattern, Only I just made this dress:

It was a long time ago and I never wear it now, it is about mid calf length, maybe I'll cut it short and wear it over jeans...
I especially like the second dress you made, maybe I'll break the pattern out again and branch out to the other views, thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful job on all three!!

Actually the cowgirl dress is my favorite as far as shape and neckline and pockets(!).  Does the back on that dress look like the back on the sleeved dress?

no, the cowgirl dress has a totally different bodice pattern. the back is just straight across and a bit lower than the front. it has a back zipper too.

i offten get patterns with multiple looks and sizes. how are you making all the dress from one pattern. once i cut the pattern i am stuck with that type or style. i had a muti-sized babydoll type pattern once. i cut it the size i was at the time. when i lost a little weight i tried to go down but the pattern doesn't look right. i relize now tht it was the angling of the original pattern that made the sizes slighly different. so how is it done?
