i also am wanting to do some sort of xstitch sampler deal for my nerdy brother.....though he is 30-something, he has a "game/computer" room with a real arcade game he is re-building, and lots of classic game systems and such..so i thought a cool framed xstitch of Zelda, Metroid (his favs) and the like would be neato for him to hang up? but im not sure how large of a project i wanna get myself into...

i also loove darklilac!!! so i will def be using it to make my pattern

any suggestions on how large of a sampler, if i should do a single picture ( like zelda by himself) or do a variety of lets say, Metroid things together??

I want to make something like a screen shot, with Mario and maybe some evil guy, and a game like border around it and maybe his name in a Nintendo type font.

My younger brother is only 12, but most of his fav games are older than he is. He likes Metroid, too, but I thought it might look better if it looks like a real game.

I found black aida a while ago, the piece is 35 by 45 cm so the sampler is probably going to be around 25 by 35 cm, for the framing.

I just thought that it might be cool if I used his game name instead of his real name. Or both.

last night i started a project that may just take me 20 years to complete.
14x10" approximately

I'm working on the Sonic 2 Beta title screen... or most of it. I cropped a little to save my sanity

oh... ehm... jee (omg for those still waking up  Wink ), that really will take forever!  That's going to look absolutely awesome when it's done though.  I'm still slowly working my way through my 1up mushroom.  I plan on taking it with me on my business trip so hopefully I'll be able to balance my NaNo writing and my stitching during what little free time i may have haha.

yeah, about 6 hours into 4 inches down and 3/4 inch across i thought to myself, "why the heck did i not needlepoint this instead cross stitch"

i have a question... being new to the whole craftster scene, i didn't find any category that fits my rug hooking...
it's kinda like needlework... would it be wrong to post in here?
i have so many latch hook pieces that would inspire people to get those needles working a little faster.

Finally got some time to work on my embroidery again - not sure where my cross-stitch project I originally posted went off to when I moved, but I'm almost done with a Portal-themed tea towel.  Anyone else been working on anything lately?

I've started working on another cross stitched Mario map. Logically I follow up the first world of SMB 3 by the second - Desert Land!

I'm doing it on 21 ct Aida and the finished size will be about 18 x 58 cm.

That looks AMAZING!! I was just thinking of that game the other day - it's my alltime favourite Mario one Smiley
Did you create the pattern yourself or could I find it somewhere? I'd love to make this!

You simply take a screenshot and stitch it pixel by pixel. I don't remember where I got the image of the map, but if you google you should be able to find one.
