I wanted to send a package off to a friend to show off my crafty talents and give her things she would really like, so I decided to make something based on ideas I got from the Reading is Sexy swap. (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42201.0)

I made bookplates and back of the book pockets that are all adhesive thanks to the wonders of my Xyron. I made 24 each of the bookplates and the pockets, but I didn't think that a picture of the stacks there in would do a nice job of showing off how they look.

I also decoupaged a picture frame using torn out book pages and decorative paper. In case you couldn't tell, my friend likes pink, brown and Harry Potter. Smiley

Tomorrow I'm going to work on using ribbon and tissue paper to package everything up nicely along with the date stamp and ink for the due date card and then I'll send it her way. I hope that she'll like it and any comments on things to improve would be greatly appreciated.

Wow I would love to have something like that myself. Did you use a stencil for the monogram "M" on the bookplate? This all looks really great and professional

That was a foam stamp from Making Memories. The style name is "Gabby." The sent is around $10 and I've seen it at Target and the craft stores around here, so it should be pretty easy to get. I used a brown ink pad with it and I was really pleased with the results. Thanks for the compliment!

The torn out pages are from books I purchased at the friends of the library sale. If they aren't sold after a period of time they are recycled, so I figured that I was recycling them into something prettier than whatever else they would be made into.

They are small pieces of paper that you adhere to the back of the front cover of a book. You write your name on them so that when you lend the book out people know it's yours. In this case, I only put my friend's initial, but that along with the design of the bookplate should cause people who borrow books from her to remember that the books is hers and return it when they're done with it.

There are some easy to print out bookplates here. (http://www.nickbantock.com/Bantock/Dodger/BookplatesPR.html)

There are some really cute bookplates you can buy here. (http://www.littletreepress.com/make-g.html)

I hope this explanation helps!
