I LOVE video games!!!! I'm obsessed, and so is my boyfriend (he manages a Game Stop.)

I wish I could participate in this swap, but I won't have been a craftster member for a month until Feb. 12.  Cry  I'm jealous of all of you!

I'll definitely watch the results though, and keep my eyes peeled for a round 2.  Great swap idea.  Smiley  Have fun!!!

Haha - happy cricket: I like the icon. Not only is it amusing, it's highly appropriate for this swap! Smiley

EDIT: And I just realized that some people may be questioning my knowledge there... haha... but X-Men is not only a comic, a tv show, and a string of movies, but also several quite engaging video games Smiley

The old X-Men fighting games are GOLD I say, pure GOLD!!!!   I haven't gotten one of the RPG's yet, but I hear they aren't bad at all.

Hey, I have a question - would it be inappropriate for peeps to post what sort of games they like, characters they're into, etc.  here, just so we can get an idea of what we may be crafting once we are paired up?   I'm just terribly curious of the video game leanings of the group....

Why are so many good swaps happening all at once? Darn. These things will be the death of me and my checking account.

I think we should be able too so we can all get ideas before the swap actually starts. I have a ton of ideas but the person would have to like orginal nintendo and that might not happen so I'd like to learn a bit more about everyone and their tatses in video games before the swap starts

Well I'll answer that one, since I've got everyone's lists in hand, and can so far give a nice estimation of what games are popular with this group.... (feel free to jump in and get detailed though!)

The Mario Brothers in some sense (older or more recent) show up ALMOST everywhere, but it's not everyone's first choice! Zelda is also really popular. Then there's the really old-school stuff that's pretty popular (Space Invaders, Tetris, Pong, general Atari games, original NES badly drawn games... ha). The Kongs show up a couple times, as does Sonic the Hedgehog. Animal Crossing (which I've honestly never heard of), Goldeneye/Bond, and Final Fantasy are also on a couple lists.

Other than that, it gets partner specific! (there's still tons of games!)

So I was doing some searching for pictures and inspiration online...

I found a couple cool sites that might apply to you guys too!

http://www.mariomonsters.com
(Yeah... all the baddies in the Mario games, organized by games or name or system.... )

and
http://www.classicgaming.com
(This one's a little overwhelming, but check out their hosted sites page for sites on specific "classic" games and characters)

Anyone else got any good stuff?

Oh, wow, I checked out classicgaming.com and they have a hosted site for Commander Keen!  Ahh, it took me back to good ol' DOS games.  My parents have several pictures of me sitting at the computer playing those, including one of me in a beloved cat costume that I continued to wear in spite of it not being Halloween.  Jill of the Jungle, Jazz Jackrabbit... anyone else play DOS games?  I actually think I remember some of the commands for DOS.
