Unfortunately, I haven't had time to do much advertising.   Angry

I work full-time and have a bunch of custom orders right now, so there's no time to sew and advertise.  I'm hoping in the spring I can make a much bigger effort to get the word out about Etsy.  I love it, I just can't fit it in!!!

i think this is relevant to this thread as well:
i am compiliing a list of craftsters who would be interested in including other etsy shop's business cards in their packages for customers.
if you want to be included in the great business card exchange, send me your info:

name
etsy shop name
your address (for sending the cards to).
email address (the info will be in pdf format)

i'll compile the list through MAR 1, send out the info MAR 2 and everyone will have until MAR 16 to send the business cards to people on the list.

more info is being generated in the "How's Your Etsy Shop Doing" thread.
thanks!

Does everyone send out little freebies with their orders?

I was thinking about putting in an order with Marylandmatch.com for little matchbooks. They're not actually matches inside, its a mini pad of paper and a pencil. I was planning on getting the Etsy logo on the front of the book and it is a glossy print (awesome color and quality).

I've already contacted them for a quote and the min. order is 1,000 so I was hoping to find a few others intrested. The backs are blank, so you can add your Shop name and web address (or any other info) on them.

It would be $30.00 (shipping included) for 100 of them, so they're .30 cents a piece and you can order as many as you'd like. The price will go down for every 500 over 1,000 (which I don't think will happen..).

I just purchased a stamp from VistaPrint and it has my Shop's name and Etsy address on the back. It was only a few dollars which was for shipping. I had an email from Vista Print with a free stamp offer in it, so if any of you are intrested, I'll be happy to fwd. you the email. Its one of those self inking stamps, really neat and only took about a week to arrive.

Let me know what you think! .30 cents isn't all too bad of a cost when you can pass along something cute and fun for your buyer to recieve, and also is a way of advertising your shop and etsy.  Smiley

"I also found another free ad listing for all you Canadian crafters
its at  www.artsandcraftsne t.ca"

Thanks for the link Trendy Wendy.  I submitted something to them last week and haven't heard anything and the listings haven't been updated.

Are they really slow or is something else going on?

Thats strange they sent me a reply on March 9 to update my ad (you have to renew it every month)

Here is another free craft site where you can post ads, there is also a board and right now they are having a new Vendors on line party happening on March 21.  Its closed now because they have enough vendors signed up but they are going to do another one in April.  So check it out as well here is the link

Good luck.  I will keep posting as I find them

HI Carol
I don't know how the online craft shows work either.  I hope she sends us instructions in advance.  I have never done one before so I hope we do get some sales out of it..
